1.       U.S. and China Engage in High-Level Discussions on AI Military Applications. U.S. and Chinese officials are set to engage in their first bilateral discussions focused on the risks associated with the military use of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

2.       China and Cambodia to Begin Annual Military Exercise to Strengthen Cooperation, Fight Terrorism. Cambodia and China begin their annual Golden Dragon military exercise this week to strengthen cooperation and exchange military experiences, a Cambodian official said.

3.       Russia Warns it is Ready for Direct Conflict if the West Wants to Fight for Ukraine on the Battlefield. If the West wants to fight for Ukraine on the battlefield, Russia is prepared for it, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov declared, as Sweden's Prime Minister said he would be willing to host Western nuclear weapons should war break out.

4.       Ukraine Evacuates Nearly 6,000 as Russia Makes Moves in Kharkiv. Russia's continued advances into Kharkiv this past weekend led Ukrainian authorities to evacuate nearly 6,000 residents from their homes because of deteriorating situations there.

7.       Qatar Deploys Search and Rescue Team to Afghanistan Following Devastating Floods. Qatar deployed a search and rescue team to Afghanistan after destructive floods claimed more than 300 lives over the weekend, the state news agency (QNA) reported.

8.       U.S. Warns Israel Has No Plan to Eliminate Hamas, as IDF Battles Regrouped Militants in Northern Gaza. The Israeli military intensified its attacks on northern Gaza, battling a regrouped Hamas in areas it said it had cleared and renewing questions over Israeli strategy in the war as the United States issued some of its harshest public criticism yet.

9.       India, Iran Sign Long Term Bilateral Contract on Chabahar Port Operation.  India and Iran on 13 May signed a 10-year contract for the operation of a terminal at the strategically important Chabahar port in Iran, a move that will boost regional connectivity as well as trade ties.
