1.       China, Japan and South Korea Hold Regional Summit Overshadowed by U.S. The leaders of South Korea and Japan sought to restore economic cooperation with China, their biggest trading partner, after years of souring relations, but their three-way talks were overshadowed by heightened tensions between China and the United States.

2.       North Korea Launches Presumed Spy Satellite, Seoul Says. North Korea launched what was likely a spy satellite, South Korea's military said, hours after a trilateral summit among China, Japan and South Korea that took place in Seoul.

3.       NATO Parliamentary Assembly Calls for Ukraine to be Allowed to Strike Russia with Western-Supplied Weapons. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov described the Taliban as a “real power” in Afghanistan, suggesting that the possible removal of the group from Russia’s list of terrorist organizations reflects “objective realities.”

8.       Egyptian Guard Killed in Shooting on Rafah Border, Israel and Egypt Investigating. A member of Egypt's security forces was killed in a shooting incident near the Rafah border crossing between Egypt and the Gaza Strip and an investigation is under way, Egypt's military spokesperson said in a statement.

9.       Iran: Countering Israel Core of Foreign Policy; No Change in Palestine Support.  Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kan’ani made the remarks at his weekly press conference in Tehran, as he once again expressed his condolences over the martyrdom of President Ebrahim Raeisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and six of their companions in a helicopter crash.

10.      Five Soldiers, 17 Militants Killed in Gunbattles in Northwest Pakistan. Five Pakistan soldiers were killed in gunbattles with militants in the country’s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province that borders Afghanistan, the Pakistani military said.
