1.       China's military says Taiwan drills met goals but it is ready for further action. China’s military achieved its expected goals during two days of drills around Taiwan last week but is prepared for further action if provoked.       

2.       ‘Hong Kong 47’ trial: 14 democrats found guilty in landmark subversion case. Fourteen Hong Kong pro-democracy activists were found guilty and two were acquitted in a landmark subversion trial that critics say could deal another blow to the city’s rule of law and its reputation as a global financial hub.

3.       Pressure on Biden to let US weapons strike Russia. Pressure is growing on US President Joe Biden to allow Ukraine to use West-supplied weapons to strike Russian territory.

4.       Spain passes bill granting amnesty to Catalan secessionists. Spain’s parliament has green-lighted a bill granting amnesty to hundreds of Catalan secessionists involved in a botched breakaway bid seven years ago.

5.       PM Modi arrives in Kanniyakumari, to meditate at Vivekananda Rock till June 1. Following the conclusion of election campaign for Lok Sabha Elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Kanniyakumari where he will meditate till June 1. During this time, he will visit the iconic Vivekananda Rock Memorial and meditate at the Dhyan Mandapam, the same spot where Swami Vivekananda once meditated.

6.       Kashmiris being victimized for demanding right to self-determination: APHC  . The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) expressing serious concern over the deteriorating political and human rights situation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir has said that the Kashmiri people are suffering persecution at the hands of Indian government led by Narendra Modi for demanding their birthright to self-determination.

7.       EU, Qatari special envoys confer on Afghanistan. The European Union and Qatari special envoy for Afghanistan have held discussions on the situation in the South Asian country. Two sides also discussed joint international efforts to achieve peace and stability in Afghanistan.

8.       Israeli forces kill 53 people across enclave  . Gaza’s Health Ministry says 53 people have been killed in the enclave and 357 injured in the latest 24-hour reporting period.

9.       Syrian president meets Ayatollah Khamenei to offer condolences over Raisi death. President Bashar al Assad of Syria visited Tehran on Thursday to offer condolences to Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei over the tragic death of President Ebrahim Raisi.

10.      Politically motivated digital terrorism to be comprehensively defeated: Pak army. The top brass of Pakistan’s military noted on Thursday that the planners, perpetrators, abettors, and facilitators of the May 9 riots need to be brought to justice for the collective good of the country.
