1.       Beijing Says US Provoking Arms Race in Moves into South China Sea. The US poses the largest security challenge in the South China Sea as its military deployment there is turning it into “the whirlpool of an arms race,” Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong.        

2.       South Korea Restarts Anti-North Korea Loudspeaker Broadcasts in Retaliation for Trash Balloons. South Korea resumed anti-North Korean propaganda loudspeaker broadcasts in border areas in retaliation for the North sending over 1,000 balloons filled with trash and manure over the last couple of weeks.

3.       Ukrainian Warplane Fires Weapon at Target Inside Russia for First Time. A Ukrainian warplane has for the first time fired a weapon that struck a target inside Russia, a Ukrainian military source told Sky News.

4.       South Africa, Egypt Foreign Ministers Head to Russia for BRICS Meeting. South Africa’s Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Dr Naledi Pandor, and Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry departed their countries for the Russian city of Nizhny Novgorod, which is due to host the BRICS Foreign Ministers’ Meeting.

6.       20,000 More Indian Forces Being Deployed in IIOJK in Name of Amarnath Yatra Security. The authorities in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir have decided to deploy 20,000 more personnel of Indian forces in the name of Amarnath Yatra security.

8.       US Denies Gaza Aid Pier Was Used in Deadly Hostage Rescue Operation. The US denied that a pier in the Mediterranean Sea set up by its military for aid deliveries was used in the evacuation of four Israeli hostages rescued from Gaza.

9.       Iran Approves Six Candidates for Presidential Race. Iran's Guardian Council has approved the country's hard-line parliament Speaker and five others to run in the country's 28 June presidential election following a helicopter crash that killed president Ebrahim Raisi and seven others.

10.      Attacks on Polio Teams in KP Have Killed 13 Policemen So Far. The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has released a report detailing 15 attacks on polio vaccination teams in the province this year, resulting in the deaths of 13 police officers and injuries to 36 others.

11.      Talks with IMF End Without Agreement. Another round of discussions between Pakistan and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has ended inconclusively due to disagreement over new income tax rates for salaried and non-salaried persons and the imposition of standard 18% sales tax on agriculture and health sectors’ goods.
