1. IDEAS 2024 Exhibition
Pakistan showcased its advancements in defense technology and innovation at the IDEAS 2024 exhibition, which served as a platform for international collaboration.
Key Highlights:
- Medium-altitude long-endurance (MALE)
unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) – Shahpar III.
- Kamikaze (suicide) drone "Sarkash".
- Blaze
Series of loitering munitions, including Blaze
25, Blaze 50, and Blaze 75.

2. North Naval Modernization Initiatives
The Pakistan Navy launched the first two of four MILGEM corvettes, classified as Babur class, with plans for a joint design of the Jinnah class frigate in collaboration with Turkey.
The
acquisition of two Type 054 A/P frigates from China, equipped with advanced missile systems,
marked a significant enhancement of naval capabilities.
3. Air Force Advancements
The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) expanded its capabilities with the induction of J-10CE fighter jets and advanced drones, including the Turkish Akinci and Bayraktar TB2, enhancing its intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities.
The
PAF also showcased new air-launched munitions, including hypersonic missiles and indigenous
developments like the Panjnad electronic warfare pod.
4. New Military Technologies
The introduction of the Haider main battle tank and the long-range HQ-9/P surface-to-air missile system during the Pakistan Day Parade highlighted advancements in land and air defense technologies.

5. Defence Equipment Agreements
Significant defense agreements were signed with China during IDEAS 2024, including a memorandum of understanding between Heavy Industries Taxila and Norinco, enhancing Pakistan's defense industrial capabilities.

Pakistan announced a defense budget of PKR 2.13 trillion (approximately USD 7.64 billion) for 2024-25, marking a 14.5% increase from the previous year, despite challenges posed by inflation.
These milestones reflect Pakistan's ongoing efforts to modernize its military capabilities and enhance its defense industry through international collaboration and technological advancements.
